What’s Included in the Coaching Legal Bundle?
1. Coaching Agreement
A Coaching Agreement is a legal contract for coaches to use when engaging clients.
It covers all of the important aspects of your coaching relationship with a client. This includes your services, client responsibilities, payment terms, cancellations, termination, limitation of liability and a success disclaimer. It also covers confidentiality and intellectual property rights.
Every coach-client relationship is different, but our Coaching Agreement will help to set the ground rules so that both parties can understand their obligations from the start. You can tweak this template to suit your requirements with each client.
2. Non-Disclosure Agreement
Give your clients extra peace of mind by signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement before you start working with them. A Non-Disclosure Agreement (also known as an NDA or Confidentiality Agreement) means they can be 100% sure that their precious business information is safe with you.
5. Letter of Demand
When your gentle payment reminders fall on deaf ears, it’s powerful to have a firm and professional Letter of Demand up your sleeve. Our Letter of Demand template will help to keep the cash in your business flowing.
Use our Letter of Demand template to formally request payment of an outstanding debt and provide a warning before commencing legal action. You might be able to recover your debts yourself without spending money on a lawyer or debt collector.

Do I need a contract for my coaching clients?
Yes, definitely! A contract protects both you and your clients.
You should always have a contract signed before you start a new coaching job with a client.
Contracts are about more than wrapping your clients up in red tape and telling them what they can’t do. Think of your contract as relationship insurance: it does all the hard, boring work of keeping the relationship on rails, so you can focus on the fun part – the actual coaching.
Other names for Coaching Agreement
- Coaching Contract
- Coaching Terms and Conditions
- Coaching Terms of Business
- Mentoring Agreement
- Services Agreement
- Client Agreement
How do I fit all of the details of my different services into the contract?
Our Coaching Agreement template incluse a clause to describe your services.
However, the best approach is to have TWO documents which you provide to potential clients:
1. Proposal – a detailed overview of the coaching services you will provide and the scope of your engagement
2. Coaching Agreement – all of the legal considerations and your official agreement
This gives you more flexibility and it means that you can customise each proposal without having to condense the detailed information into a standard contract.
Can’t I just copy these documents from another website?
We don’t recommend this approach for a few reasons:
1. You may be committing copyright infringement, which is against the law.
2. You might accidentally copy terms and conditions from another country – if you end up in court for some reason it might be on the other side of the world.
3. Our template has been drafted by an Australian lawyer to make sure it’s legally binding here in Australia.
Are these templates editable?
Yes, the templates come in Word format so you are free to make changes to the documents.
However, we do not recommend you make changes outside of the fields we have highlighted in the documents. The clauses and wording have been written by a lawyer for a good reason. Deleting clauses or modifying them can affect the legal protections contained in the documents.
What if the law changes?
If the law changes, we’ll email you with the changes and updates to add to your existing templates. So please ensure you keep us updated if your email address changes.
