This a summary of the new restrictions announced by the NSW Government on 17/07/2021. The guide includes a clear outline of the new restrictions, how long they will last, who is affected and how you can seek practical assistance for your business.
Letter - Unpaid Leave
This template letter covers NSW business with employees residing in Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Liverpool LGAs who can not leave the area and have agreed to unpaid leave for a period of time.


Letter - Non-payment of wages
This template letter covers NSW business with employees residing in Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Liverpool LGAs who can not leave the area. If you are unable to pay wages to employees while they are prevented from working, use this letter.
Letter - WFH Direction
Use this letter to give a Work From Home (WFH) Direction to employees, From 12.01am on Wednesday 21 July 2021, all employers in the Greater Sydney region must allow employees to work from home if the employee is able to do so. Employers who do not follow this direction may be fined up to $10,000.


Letter - Stand down Direction
This template letter should be used if your NSW business has been forced to close – including construction and non-essential retail. Use this letter to formally give a stand down direction to your employees.
Letter - Attend Work Direction and LGA testing
Use this template letter to give a Direction to attend work and submit for testing – for NSW business with employees residing in Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Liverpool LGAs who can and must leave the area for work. Under new restrictions, essential workers are permitted to leave their LGA but must get a COVID19 test every three days.


Agreement to Annual Leave at Half Pay
This template agreement covers an agreement for employees to take twice as much annual leave at half pay. This can assist employees who may not have enough leave accrued to cover the new lockdown period.
Letter - Request For Rent Relief
Under the new Public Health Orders in the greater Sydney region, many businesses will be impacted or forced to close. Use this template letter to request rent relief from your landlord.
Important note for tenants: The NSW Government has announced that there will no lockouts or evictions of commercial tenants unless or until tenants and landlords have attended mediation.
